Some of your favorite Tulsa adventures will revolve around the restaurants and bars that make our town such a lively and thriving community and today, we at StayInTulsaOK would like to take a few moments to take you on a taste tour of Tulsa. Starting with Nola’s Creole & Cocktails, a Cajun restaurant offering the food that tastes as if it has come from the streets of New Orleans.
Located at 1334 E 15th Street
Stepping inside Nola’s will bring you straight to the streets of New Orleans, with a prohibition era twist. The walls are filled with black and white pictures from the past, photos of men in suits and hats and women in dresses with bustles and very rarely will any of them have a smile on their faces. Dark wood tables, chandelier lights, and polished wood floors give the space a moody feel that will be brightened with your first tastes of the food they serve. Their cocktails match the era, featuring names like Good Omen, Blush & Sigh, and our personal favorite, Swampy Tonk. Also offering delicious after dinner cocktails, including espresso martinis and strawberry spritzer, every sip will be savored.
The Menu
Cajun food has that irrepressible fire that makes you sip a little more and love a little harder and Nola’s Creole and Cocktails menu is filled with the dishes you love, as well as a few new dishes you will definitely have to taste to believe. Serving lunch, dinner, and a weekend brunch worth exploring often, their lunch menu offers sandwiches, burgers, and a voodoo chicken topped with shrimp and crab.
Dinner, served all day every day should start with your choice of a cold appetizer (oyster shooters, anyone?) or hot appetizers that include cocodrie fried alligator. The menu is a large one, filled with too many delicious dishes to list here, but if you have a big appetite, the Big Easy is a 16-ounce blackened ribeye served with dirty rice, crawfish etouffee, and one side, and is sure to conquer any hungers.
Their brunch menu features everything from chicken and waffles to savory benedicts (Nola’s Crab on Crab Benedict may haunt your dreams for years to come!) and can all be washed down with your favorite breakfast boozes and a few new ones you may never have heard of before.
